New Development Model and Urban Processes for Chile - Sept. 08 |
RedAlmarza drafted a comprehensive proposal, with the aim of defining the long-term strategy in this important field.
The New Model considers the analysis of the current urban crisis and ways to overcome it, raising proposals covering various fields such as a new structure for local governments and a modern and efficient approach to urban transport, concessions, environmental management, and treatment of heritage buildings as well as revitalization of urban areas, among others.

A new town and a new life in Curarrehue - Dec.08 |
65 families from the district of Curarrehue, in the mountain area of the Region of Araucanía were handed over their final homes 3 years after joining the Estero Pulongo. Committee. In the official ceremony, which took place on December 19, and was lead by Cristina Silva, National Overseer of the Housing Solidarity Fund, and José Luis Sepúlveda, Director of SERVIU (Housing and Urban Development Service), they were handed the keys of their houses and received them with overwhelming emotion. The community members then proceeded to have a countryside lunch and that same night, they started their new life in Entre Cerros, as the town was named. During 3 years, the beneficiaries of the Subsidy provided by the Housing Solidarity Fund were grouped together in the Estero Pulongo committee, which was created after some of the community members were affected by the landslide that occurred on May 28, 2005. RedAlmarza was the Social Housing Management Institution (in Spanish, EGIS) chosen by the group to execute the project. This is the first town the company has built in the region. |

Latin American Agreement - Apr.08 |
RedAlmarza established an agreement to conduct the feasibility study and design of a Second Floor Fund to refinance mortgages in the 18 countries of the continent that are present in the Chambers of Construction that comprise the Inter American Federation of the Construction Industry (FIIC). Ricardo Platt, Secretary General, and Jorge Videgaray, Project Coordinator represented the FIIC. On the other hand, Sergio Almarza, General Manager, signed the contract on behalf of RedAlmarza. |
