Glossary

- Social entrepreneurship 
Implementing a model that combines work with passion as well as with a social mission as a central goal, but under an innovative business and market oriented. 

- Synergy 
The interaction of two or more agents or forces, which while combine, generate a greater effect than the one obtained from the addition of their individual effects.

- Segments DE y C3:

 Segment D 

  • $250.000 average income per month.
  • In the Santiago Metropolitan Area they live in old high density neighbourhoods such as Cerro Navia, La Pintana, Conchalí, La Granja, San Ramón, Huechuraba, and Renca.
  • Most of them have incomplete elementary and high school education, no profession, with occupations such as traders, non specialized workers, office juniors, behind the counter salesmen in small shops, household maids.
  • Very few own a car, if so generally a very old one.

 Segmento E

  • $115.000 average income per month.
  • They live in very poor neighbourhoods. In the Santiago Metropolitan Area they live in the neighbourhoods such as Cerro Navia, La Pintana, Huechuraba, and Renca.
  • Most of the heads of family are people with incomplete elementary education.
  • They have non defined professions or jobs.
  • They perform occasional jobs such as cleaning jobs, washers, car keepers, etc.

Segmento C3

  • $ 450.000 to $ 1.000.000 average income per month.
  • Their homes are worth between 400 and 1.000 UF.
  • In the last years they have been benefit with retail: have access to banking operations, purchase in supermarkets, malls and can apply to credit.
  • They represent a 25% of the Santiago Metropolitan Area and 22.4% of the nation.
