“I arrived at Villa Wolf in 1970, so I have witnessed its history and how we’ve slowly made progress, both in infrastructure and socially.
By means of the community meetings with RedAlmarza, we established a work agreement in the areas of community, micro-entrepreneuring, housing and labor intermediation. RedAlmarza’s commitment toward their work has helped forge a revival of community relations, to the point that when we celebrated our anniversary, over 500 people attended the event. Thanks to RedAlmarza’s support, leadership and trust has been strengthened among the members of the community and the blog they created has become a means of expression and information that goes far beyond the town.”

“I lived with my godmother, other relatives, and my children. We were 11 people and we simply did not fit. I felt like my children were in the way and had to constantly tell them to quiet down. They couldn’t even watch TV in peace. Having our own house has changed our life.”
At RedAlmarza we were attended very well. I tend to ask a lot of questions, and whenever I had any questions I either called them or went there, and was always provided clear and kind answers. The house became ours quicker than we had expected.
The change has been wonderful. Before, I worked at the Persa (flea market) and had to leave my children with other people, but now I can take care of them and for the first time I feel at peace. Even Sasha, our dog, is happy. It has its own space and doesn’t bother anyone.

“I was constantly worried because my daughter and I are staying at my 91-year-old grandmother’s house, and if anything happened to her, we would be on the street.
I was very excited when a friend of mine bought an apartment. After seeing how it had worked out for her, I decided to start saving up money. She referred me to RedAlmarza, so I went to see them and they informed me of the requirements. I didn’t feel discriminated for being a single mother; to the contrary, I felt a lot of support.
I went house-hunting in this area and found an apartment on the ground floor. I still can’t believe it. My daughter is happy. She told all her little friends that she’s going to live in “her own” apartment, and she’s already asked for a little dog. No doubt our life is going to change when we move.”
Marcela Eugenia Leiva Ñonquepán, 30 years old.
